St. John’s Academy advising support service is given by a team of advisors from the Student Service Department who are well-experienced in student academic and career planning. Student Services Department can give good advising support for students of any background for course planning, university selection, and campus life. The advisors are well-connected to local help centers and can refer students to professional services if it is determined to be necessary.
Mr. Bruce Schei – Chief Advisor
Mr. Schei is Head of Student Services Department for St. John’s Academy and is committed to student success.
Mr.Schei has a wealth of knowledge and has many years of experience in this department. His mission is to ensure that all students are successful and are able to reach their full potential by graduation. From the very start he helps students develop a PLA /IEP that align with their education and career goals. He is there every step of the way to help students navigate through their academic years while at St. John’s Academy. His primary focus is to ensure that every student leaves his office with a sense of confidence and satisfaction after an advising session.
His responsibilities include (but not limited to):
1.Creating, writing and implementing educational pathways,2.Student course transfers,3.Review Graduation Requirements,4.Scholarships and awards,5.Student Inquiries around (withdrawals, semester break inquiries)6.Assisting students with applying and getting accepted into the universities of their choice7.Extended University Application Service (EUAS) program, which helps International or Domestic students to apply for Universities and Post Secondary Institutions.
